Rectification of errors apparent on the face of record permits correction of documents subject to time limits and natural justice. Any authority that issued a decision, order, notice, certificate or other document may rectify errors apparent on the face of record on its own motion or when notified by an authorised officer or the affected person, subject to prescribed time limits; purely clerical or arithmetical slips may be corrected notwithstanding the outer time limit, and any rectification adverse to a person must follow the principles of natural justice.
