          <h1>Determination of Origin rules establish origin criteria under the Customs Tariff Act for MERCOSUR-India preferential trade.</h1> The Central Government, exercising the power under sub section (1) of section 5 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, notifies the Customs Tariff (Determination of Origin of Goods under the Preferential Trade Agreement between MERCOSUR Member States and the Republic of India) Rules, 2009 to prescribe the mechanism for ascertaining originating status of goods, and brings those Rules into force from the notified commencement date in 2009.
