SCOMET export controls restrict export, transfer and technology for sensitive chemicals, biologicals, nuclear and aerospace items.

Export of Special Chemicals, Organisms, Materials, Equipment and Technologies (SCOMET) is regulated under Schedule 2 of the ITC (HS) Classification, 2022. The SCOMET List organises controlled items into Categories 0-8 (nuclear, toxic chemicals, micro organisms/toxins, materials, aerospace/propulsion, munitions, emerging technologies, and dual use materials/IT). Controls cover goods, specially designed components, and the technology/software required for development, production or use; licensing, GAEC, end use certification, and post shipment reporting are imposed for specified items and destinations.
