Penalties for unlawful foreign contributions impose imprisonment or fines for accepting prohibited contributions or hospitality. Contravention of the Act by accepting, or assisting in accepting, any foreign contribution or currency from a foreign source is punishable by imprisonment, fine, or both; acceptance of foreign hospitality in contravention of the Act or rules is similarly punishable by imprisonment, fine, or both.
