of <h1>Rule 5B: Tribunal Can Use Hindi in Proceedings; English Translation Required for Orders in Notified States.</h1> Rule 5B of the Income-tax (Appellate Tribunal) Rules, 1963, allows the Tribunal to use Hindi in proceedings or issue orders in Hindi in certain states as notified by the President. If an order is issued in Hindi, it must be accompanied by an authorized English translation. This rule was introduced by the 1975 amendment, and applicable states and Union Territories include Gujarat, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Chandigarh, and Delhi, with specific Tribunal benches located in cities such as Ahmedabad, Bombay, and Delhi, among others.
