of <h1>Amendment to Article 376: Non-citizen Judges Now Eligible for Chief Justice Roles in Indian High Courts.</h1> The Constitution (1st Amendment) Act, 1951, amends Article 376 by adding a provision to clause (1). This amendment allows a judge, even if not a citizen of India, to be eligible for appointment as the Chief Justice of the same High Court or as Chief Justice or another judge of any other High Court.
