Eligibility for judicial appointment allows non-citizen judges to serve as Chief Justice or judge in other High Courts. The amendment adds that notwithstanding that he is not a citizen of India, any such Judge shall be eligible for appointment as Chief Justice of such High Court, or as Chief Justice or other Judge of any other High Court, thereby removing citizenship as a disqualifier for High Court appointments.
