Document preservation ensures issuers and importers retain origin certificates and supporting records under CEPA rules. Issuing authorities and competent authorities must retain minimum required information, applications for Certificates of Origin, and all supporting documents for not less than five years from the date of issue; importers must keep records relevant to importation under the importing Party's laws, and records may include electronic records maintained in accordance with each Party's laws and practices.
