          <h1>Rules of Origin verification triggers prompt refund of excess duties and recovery of release guarantees upon compliance.</h1> Where a verification under rule 22 finds a product complies with the Rules of Origin, the importer is entitled to a prompt refund of duties paid above the preferential duty and to recovery of release guarantees obtained in accordance with their laws and regulations; the verification thus converts prior treatment into preferential treatment for purposes of reimbursement.
