Section 22A allows composition of certain offences under Depositories Act 1996 before or after proceedings begin
Section 22A of the Depositories Act, 1996 permits composition of certain offences by the Securities Appellate Tribunal or relevant court. This provision allows settlement of offences that are not punishable with imprisonment only or imprisonment combined with fine. The composition can occur either before or after proceedings are instituted, notwithstanding the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. This creates an alternative dispute resolution mechanism for specific categories of offences under the Act.
