Compounding of offences under the Depositories Act permitted before or after proceedings, enabling settlement by tribunal or court. Offences under the Depositories Act that are not punishable with imprisonment only, or with imprisonment and also with fine, may be compounded either before or after institution of proceedings, notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, and such compounding may be effected by a Securities Appellate Tribunal or by a court before which proceedings are pending.
