        Extension of time for unique identification numbers may be notified to prevent hardship; failure triggers prohibitions on intermediaries. Regulation 5A allows the Board to extend the time for classes of related persons to obtain unique identification numbers by Gazette notification to prevent genuine hardship, and provides that if such persons fail to obtain the numbers by the notified date, the prohibitions applicable under the relevant unique identification number provisions shall apply to the concerned specified intermediary or specified listed company.
