Securities Appellate Tribunal Rules allow sittings at various locations and temporary presiding by authorized members under amended rules.
The Securities Appellate Tribunal (Procedure) Rules, 2000, specify that the Appellate Tribunal can hold its sittings either at its office location or any other place within its jurisdiction as deemed appropriate. In the temporary absence of the Presiding Officer, the government may authorize one of the two other members to preside over the Tribunal's sittings at the designated location. These provisions were amended in 2003 to include the numbering of sub-rules and the authorization clause for temporary presiding arrangements.
