NFRA chairperson and member appointments: search-cum-selection committee process, flexible recommendation timeline, and new part-time member structure set
Prescribes the appointment process for the NFRA Chairperson and full-time members by requiring selection by the Central Government on the recommendation of a search-cum-selection committee comprising specified senior officials and three nominated experts, with the MCA Secretary as convener and the committee empowered to determine its own procedure; appointments are not invalidated by vacancies or absences in the committee. Requires the committee to forward recommendations to the Central Government within a reasonable period from the date of reference, replacing the earlier fixed outer limit of 120 days. Specifies the composition of part-time members as ex-officio representatives from MCA, CAG, RBI and SEBI, specified office-bearers of ICAI and its standard-setting boards, and two experts from accountancy, auditing, finance or law, establishing the Authority's part-time membership structure.
