<h1>Settlement Commission power to amend orders permits correcting apparent record errors, with notice before increasing an applicant's liability.</h1> The Settlement Commission may, within a limited period from the date of an order under sub-section (5), amend that order to rectify any error apparent on the face of the record, either suo motu or on notice from specified jurisdictional officers or the applicant; however, any amendment that increases the applicant's liability requires prior notice and a reasonable opportunity of being heard for the applicant and the jurisdictional officers.
