Relinquishment of title in warehoused goods permits release from duty liability after payment of storage charges. The amendment allows the owner of warehoused goods to relinquish title before an order for clearance for home consumption is made, provided the owner pays rent, interest, other charges and penalties; upon such relinquishment and payment the owner shall not be liable to pay duty on the goods.
