<h1>Income-tax Act appeals follow civil procedure for decrees, allow discretionary cost awards and require implementation of varied or reversed orders</h1> Provisions governing appeals to the Supreme Court under the specified Income-tax Act mirror, as far as practicable, the appeal procedures in the Code of Civil Procedure applicable to High Court decrees; the Supreme Court has discretion to award costs of such appeals; and if the High Court's decision is varied or reversed on appeal, the Supreme Court's order must be implemented in the same manner provided for affecting varied or reversed High Court judgments under the Act.
