of <h1>Income Tax Amendment: Section 80-O Now Limits Deductions to 50% of Income, Effective April 1, 1985.</h1> Section 80-O of the Income-tax Act has been amended by the Finance Act, 1984. The amendment changes the provision regarding deductions. Previously, the section allowed for a deduction of the whole of the income. With the amendment, effective from April 1, 1985, the deduction is now limited to an amount equal to fifty percent of the income.
