of <h1>Finance Act 1984 amends Income-tax Act to include IDBI deposits as specified investments from April 1, 1985.</h1> In the Finance Act of 1984, section 11 of the Income-tax Act is amended to include a new clause in sub-section (5). Effective from April 1, 1985, clause (xi) is added, allowing deposits with the Industrial Development Bank of India, established under the Industrial Development Bank of India Act, 1964, to be considered under the specified investments. This amendment expands the range of permissible investments for tax purposes under the Income-tax Act.
