of <h1>New GST Tribunal Rules: Service Conditions Align with Group 'A' Officers; Restrictions on Arbitration and Post-Tenure Employment</h1> The Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal (Appointment and Conditions of Service of President and Members) Rules, 2023, stipulate that the service conditions for the President or Members, not explicitly covered by these rules, align with those of a Group 'A' Government of India officer with equivalent pay. They are prohibited from undertaking arbitration assignments while serving in the Tribunal. Additionally, for two years post-tenure, they cannot accept employment with entities involved in Tribunal proceedings, except for positions within government bodies or statutory authorities.
