Medical fitness requirement governs appointments to the GST Appellate Tribunal's President and Member posts. Appointment to the Goods and Services Tax Appellate Tribunal is subject to a medical fitness requirement. No person may be appointed as President, Judicial Member, Technical Member (Centre) of the Principal Bench or a State Bench, or as Technical Member (State) of the Principal Bench unless declared medically fit by an authority specified by the Central Government. A separate fitness requirement applies for appointment as Technical Member (State) of a State Bench, which must be certified by an authority specified by the State in which that Bench is located.
