Service of notice: prescribed physical, electronic, publication and affixation methods determine when communications are deemed served.

Service of any decision, order, summons, notice or other communication under the Act may be effected by personal delivery to the addressee or authorised persons, by registered or speed post or courier with acknowledgement at the last known address, by e-mail provided at registration, by availability on the common portal, by newspaper publication in the locality of last known residence or business, or by affixing at the last known place and, failing that, on the issuing office notice board. Such communications are deemed served on the date tendered, published or affixed, and communications by registered or speed post are deemed received after the normal transit period unless proved otherwise.
