Inspection of goods in movement requires carriers to carry prescribed documents and devices for verification by authorised officers. Where a conveyance carries consignments above a prescribed value the Government may require the person in charge to carry specified documents and devices, which must be validated as prescribed; a proper officer intercepting the conveyance may demand and verify those documents and devices and the person in charge must produce them and permit inspection of the goods.
