Recovery proceedings commence when amounts due under an order remain unpaid after the three month payment period. Failure to pay amounts payable under an order must be paid within three months from service of the order; non payment after that period leads to initiation of recovery proceedings, though the proper officer may, for reasons recorded in writing and if expedient in the interest of revenue, require payment within a shorter specified period.
