Registration as Authorised Courier requires customs authority satisfaction that regulatory registration criteria are fulfilled. The customs authority, namely the Principal Commissioner of Customs or Commissioner of Customs as appropriate, may register an applicant as an Authorised Courier upon being satisfied that the applicant fulfils the prescribed registration requirements under Regulation 7. A previously stated validity period and renewal procedure tied to satisfactory performance and absence of misconduct have been omitted from the current regulation.
