of <h1>Courier Imports & Exports Regulations Updated Under Sections 157 & 84 of Customs Act, 1962; Effective Immediately</h1> The Courier Imports and Exports (Clearance) Regulations, 1998, established by the Central Board of Excise and Customs, are enacted under the authority of sections 157 and 84 of the Customs Act, 1962. These regulations supersede the previous 1995 regulations, except for actions completed or omitted before the supersession. The regulations are titled the Courier Imports and Exports (Clearance) Amendment Regulations, 1998, and become effective upon their publication in the Official Gazette. Amendments were made in 2019, altering the reference to section 157.
