of <h1>Courier Registration Validity & Renewal: Inactivity for a Year Leads to Invalidity, Renewal Possible Within 90 Days of Lapse.</h1> A registration under the Courier Imports and Exports (Clearance) Regulations, 1998, remains valid unless revoked. If an Authorized Courier is inactive for one year, the registration becomes invalid from the first day after this period. 'Inactive' means no customs-related business for a continuous year, excluding suspension periods. Within 90 days of deemed invalidation, the courier can apply for renewal with a fee. The Principal Commissioner or Commissioner of Customs may renew the registration within one month of the application, provided the courier's performance has been satisfactory and compliant with regulations, including the absence of misconduct.
