of <h1>Central Government Can Adjust Export Duties Anytime Using Emergency Powers Under Section 8 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975.</h1> Section 8 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 grants the Central Government emergency powers to increase or impose export duties on any article, regardless of its inclusion in the Second Schedule. If the government deems it necessary to act immediately, it can amend the Second Schedule through a notification in the Official Gazette to adjust the export duties accordingly. The procedures outlined in sub-sections (3) and (4) of Section 7 apply to such notifications, similar to those for increasing duties under Section 7(2).
