<h1>20% Export Duty Imposed on Parboiled Rice by Amending Customs Tariff Act, 1975, Effective Immediately.</h1> The Central Government has issued Notification No. 49/2023-Customs, dated August 25, 2023, imposing a 20% export duty on parboiled rice. This duty is implemented by amending the Second Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, specifically adding parboiled rice under Sl. No. 6C with the tariff item 1006 30 10. This measure is taken under the authority of section 8(1) of the Customs Tariff Act and is effective immediately, as confirmed by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
