<h1>India Imposes 20% Export Duty on Select Rice Products Under Customs Tariff Act, Effective September 9, 2022.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 49/2022-Customs, amending the Second Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, to impose a 20% export duty on specified rice products. The amendments include the addition of new entries for rice in the husk, husked (brown) rice, and semi-milled or wholly-milled rice, excluding parboiled and Basmati rice. This measure, effective from September 9, 2022, is enacted under the powers conferred by the Customs Tariff Act to address urgent circumstances necessitating immediate action.
