of <h1>Revised Procedure for Metal Scrap Imports in India: New Guidelines, Withdrawn Circulars, and Mandatory Port Scanners by 2017.</h1> The circular outlines the revised procedure for the clearance of imported metal scrap in India. Previous circulars related to this process have been withdrawn. The import of shredded metal scrap is allowed through all ports without a pre-shipment certificate. For un-shredded scrap, clearance is subject to guidelines from the Director General of Foreign Trade, involving checks at designated EDI ports with operational Risk Management Modules. Sea ports must install Radiation Portal Monitors and Container Scanners by March 31, 2017. Importers may move containers to their premises under specific conditions. Immediate implementation is required, and any difficulties should be reported to the Board.
