of <h1>Amendments to Metal Scrap Import Procedure: ICD Tughlakabad Replaced by ICD Loni; New System Effective April 1, 2008.</h1> The circular addresses amendments to the procedure for clearing imported metal scrap. It updates Circular No. 56/2004-Cus by replacing the customs station 'ICD, Tughlakabad, New Delhi' with 'ICD Loni, Ghaziabad' in the list of customs stations. The circular also notes that the new import system from registered sources will be effective from April 1, 2008, and imports will rely on the Pre-Shipment Inspection regime until then. Transitional arrangements from the Foreign Trade Policy will apply, and the Commissioner of Customs may clear goods with an irrevocable letter of credit established before the changes.
