of <h1>Guidelines for Importing Rough Stone Blocks and Slabs: Licensing, Eligibility, and Ceiling Limits for 2008-09.</h1> The circular outlines the guidelines for importing rough or unprocessed blocks and slabs of agglomerated or artificial stones for the year 2008-09. Import is restricted and requires licensing under specified EXIM codes. Eligibility for import licenses is based on criteria including the installation of marble gang saw machines and sales turnover. Licenses are subject to floor prices and a total import ceiling of 40,000 metric tonnes. Units with one gang saw machine are entitled to a maximum of 3,000 MT, with additional allowances for more machines. Applications must be submitted by October 16, 2008, and licenses are subject to actual user conditions.
