New Guidelines Allow Importers to Choose Between Licensed Items or Marble Blocks Under Policy Circular No.13 for 2008-09.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade has issued guidelines for the import of rough blocks and slabs of agglomerated/artificial stones for 2008-09. Due to decreased demand in the real estate sector, licence holders can now choose to import either the licensed items or rough marble blocks/slabs, as per Policy Circular No.13. This option is available under certain conditions, including adherence to floor prices. Licence holders must seek endorsement for this change within 15 days of the circular's issuance. This decision is approved by the competent authority and communicated by the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade.
