Cross-country natural gas distribution network eligibility expanded under section 80-IA, subject to regulatory approval and common-carrier capacity. The amendment adds a provision bringing undertakings that lay and operate a cross-country natural gas distribution network within section 80-IA, subject to conditions: Indian ownership or statutory authority ownership, PNGRB approval and Central Government notification, one-third pipeline capacity reserved on a common-carrier basis for third parties, commencement of operations on or after the effective date, and any other prescribed conditions; and it defines 'associated person' by control, shareholding, board appointment or guarantees.
