Central Advisory Board's new role advising minimum wage fixation for journalists and sales promotion employees u/s 42(3)
Prescribes additional functions of the Central Advisory Board under section 42(3) of the Code on Wages by requiring the Board, when a reference is made by the Central Government, to advise on issues relating to fixation of minimum wages for specified categories of employees. It extends the Board's advisory remit to minimum wage fixation matters concerning working journalists as defined under the Working Journalists and other Newspaper Employees (Conditions of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1955, and sales promotion employees as defined under the Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976, thereby enabling the Central Government to obtain the Board's advice for minimum wage decisions for these categories.
