Authorised agent responsibility: importer remains fully liable for agent actions while agent is subject to regulatory controls. The regulation allows an authorised agent to fulfill any obligation of the importer, while the importer remains fully responsible for all operations and transactions performed by the agent and liable for payment of dues and penal consequences under the regulations, the Act, or other law; the authorised agent is governed by the regulatory regime under sections 146 and 147 of the Act.
