of <h1>Indian Post Office Act Amendment Updates Inland Postage Rates; New Pricing for Letters, Postcards, and Parcels</h1> The amendment to the Indian Post Office Act, 1898, as per the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996, revises the inland postage rates. The new rates are: letters at Re. 1.00 for every 20 grams; letter-cards at 75 paise; single post cards at 15 paise, reply post cards at 30 paise, and printed communication post cards at Re. 1.00. Competition post cards are Rs. 2.00. Book and sample packets start at Re. 1.00 for the first 50 grams. Registered newspapers and parcels have specific rates based on weight, with parcels starting at Rs. 6.00 for 500 grams.
