          <h1>Minimum investment requirement in venture capital funds mandates minimum investor contributions and firm pre operation fund commitments.</h1> A venture capital fund may raise capital from any Indian, foreign or non resident investor by issuing units. No fund set up as a company or any scheme of a trust shall accept subscriptions below five lakh rupees, except for employees, principal officers, directors and employees of the fund manager or asset management company. Each scheme or fund must have firm investor commitments of at least five crores before starting operations.
