<h1>Insolvency Board may deny registration under Regulation 8, but applicants have 15 days to respond to initial refusal.</h1> Regulation 8 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Insolvency Professionals) Regulations, 2016, outlines the procedure for refusing a certificate of registration to insolvency professionals. If the Board initially believes registration should not be granted, it must inform the applicant and allow them fifteen days to respond. This communication must occur within thirty days of receiving the application, excluding time for additional documentation or appearances. After reviewing the applicant's explanation, the Board must either grant the registration or reject the application with reasons, within thirty days of receiving the explanation.
