of <h1>Amendment to Section 10 mandates funds from fuel duties for national highway development starting March 1, 2005.</h1> Section 10 of the Central Road Fund Act, 2000, is amended to include a new sub-section. This amendment mandates that from March 1, 2005, the Central Government must allocate fifty paise from the two-rupee amount, as modified by sections 119 and 120 of the Finance Act, 2005. This allocation is derived from additional customs and excise duties on petrol and high-speed diesel oil, as specified in prior Finance Acts, to be used exclusively for the development and maintenance of national highways.
