Government Eases Export Restrictions on Certain Edible Oils, Allowing Exceptions for Specific Oils and Special Economic Zones
The Central Government has issued a notification relaxing the prohibition on the export of certain edible oils. The restrictions do not apply to the export of castor oil, coconut oil through Kochi Port, and edible oils deemed exports to 100% export-oriented units, provided the final product is non-edible. Additionally, oils produced from minor forest produce, such as Morwah, Kokum, Sal, Dhup, Neemseed, Nigerseed, and Mango kernel oils, are exempt from restrictions. The export of edible oil from the Domestic Tariff Area to Special Economic Zones for manufacturing processed food products is also permitted. This decision is made in the public interest.
