<h1>India Eases Edible Oil Export Ban: Allows Branded Consumer Packs Up to 5 kg, Total Limit 10,000 Tons.</h1> The circular from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade addresses the partial relaxation of the ban on the export of edible oils. It permits the export of edible oils in branded consumer packs of up to 5 kg, with a total limit of 10,000 tons from November 1, 2009, to October 31, 2010. These exports are allowed only through Customs EDI Ports. To monitor compliance, weekly reports detailing the quantity and value of exported edible oil must be submitted to the DGFT by the Joint Secretary, Customs, and DGCI&S, Kolkata.
