of <h1>India Bans Edible Oil Exports Until September 30, 2011, Under Foreign Trade Act; Exemptions from 2008-2009 Remain</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has issued a notification prohibiting the export of edible oils until September 30, 2011. This amendment is made under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, and modifies previous notifications from 2008 and 2009. However, the ban does not affect the exemptions granted in specific notifications from August and November 2008, as well as December 2009. This decision is taken in the public interest and is effective immediately.
