<h1>India Revises Export Rules: Halal Meat Must Be I-CAS Certified for Export to 15 Countries from October 2024.</h1> The Government of India has amended the export policy for certain meat and meat products to streamline the Halal certification process. Effective from October 16, 2024, specified meat products can only be exported as Halal certified if produced or processed in facilities certified under the India Conformity Assessment Scheme (I-CAS) by the Quality Council of India. Exporters must provide valid Halal certificates from accredited bodies to buyers in importing countries, which include Bahrain, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Turkey, and the UAE. Non-Halal certified meat export conditions remain unchanged.
