India Lifts Export Restrictions on Diagnostic Kits and Reagents, Now Classified as 'Free' per Foreign Trade Policy.
The Government of India has amended its export policy regarding diagnostic kits and related reagents. Previously classified as 'Restricted,' these items, including VTM kits, RNA extraction kits, RT-PCR kits, swabs, silicon columns, enzymes, and COVID-19 testing kits, are now categorized as 'Free' for export. This change, effective immediately, applies to various items listed under specific ITC HS codes, as per the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020. The amendment modifies earlier notifications dated June 10, 2020, and August 16, 2021.
