India Updates Export Policy: Diagnostic Kits Free, COVID-19 Testing Instruments Restricted; Immediate Effect on Notification No. 59.
The Government of India has amended the export policy for diagnostic kits, laboratory reagents, and diagnostic apparatus. The export of specific items such as VTM kits, RNA extraction kits, and RT-PCR kits is now categorized as 'Free.' However, the export of certain diagnostic instruments and reagents, including swabs, silicon columns, and enzymes specific for COVID-19 testing, is now 'Restricted.' Exporters must provide an undertaking to Customs Authorities confirming that their shipments do not include restricted items. This amendment modifies the previous Notification No. 59 dated 04.04.2020, with immediate effect.
