of <h1>Authority for Advance Rulings: Composition and Member Exclusions Explained for Income Tax and Other Acts.</h1> The Authority for Advance Rulings on Central Taxes is composed of members appointed by the Central Government, including a Chairperson who is a retired Supreme Court Judge, an Indian Revenue Service officer qualified for the Central Board of Direct Taxes, an Indian Revenue Service officer qualified for the Central Board of Excise and Customs, and an Indian Legal Service officer qualified as an Additional Secretary to the Government. For rulings under the Income-tax Act, the member from the Central Board of Excise and Customs is excluded, while for other Acts, the member from the Central Board of Direct Taxes is excluded.
