of <h1>Central Government Appoints National Tax Tribunal Members Based on Selection Committee Recommendations, Valid Despite Committee Vacancies</h1> The Chairperson and other Members of the National Tax Tribunal are appointed by the Central Government based on recommendations from a Selection Committee. This Committee includes the Chief Justice of India or a nominated Supreme Court Judge, the Secretary of the Ministry of Law and Justice, and the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance. Any appointment made by the Central Government remains valid despite vacancies or defects in the constitution of the Selection Committee.
