The Constitution (Ninety-ninth Amendment) Act, 2014: Declared Unconstitutional in Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association Case
The Constitution (Ninety-ninth Amendment) Act, 2014 was enacted to amend the Constitution of India and received presidential assent on December 31, 2014. The Act was scheduled to come into force on a date to be notified by the Central Government, which was subsequently set as April 13, 2015 through notification S.O. 999(E). However, the Supreme Court later declared this amendment unconstitutional in the case of Supreme Court Advocates-on-Record Association v. Union of India (2015).
