Excise schedule amendments revise headings, insert new goods and alter duty rates including chemicals, tyres, glass and pan masala. The Schedule amends the First Schedule to the Central Excises Act by substituting item headings and descriptions, inserting new tariff items (including organic chemicals and pan masala), expanding definitions and explanations, and substituting revised duty rates and bases for numerous items such as chemicals, textiles, tyres, glass, marble and travel goods.
