of <h1>Section 44 of Finance Act 1985, imposing extra customs duties on TV sets, omitted by Finance Act 1996.</h1> Section 44 of the Finance Act, 1985, concerning additional customs duties on television sets, has been omitted as of September 28, 1996, by the Finance (No. 2) Act, 1996. Previously, this section mandated an additional customs duty on specified imported goods, as outlined in the fifth Schedule, in addition to existing customs duties. The Customs Act and its associated rules and regulations, including those on refunds and exemptions, were applicable to the levy and collection of these additional duties.
